Smoking Area at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL)
If you’re a smoker traveling through Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), it’s important to know that smoking is not allowed inside the terminal buildings. This includes traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vaping devices. However, designated smoking areas are available outside each terminal, usually near the arrival and departure curbs.
To smoke, you must exit the terminal and locate the clearly marked “Designated Smoking Area” signs. These outdoor zones are equipped with ashtrays and are situated at least 20 feet away from the entrance doors, in accordance with Florida’s Clean Indoor Air Act.
If you have a layover and need to smoke, be prepared to pass through security again after stepping outside. Plan accordingly to allow time for re-entry, especially during busy hours.
FLL aims to keep the terminals smoke-free for the comfort and safety of all passengers. Smokers are encouraged to respect the rules and use the designated zones responsibly.
